Lost loves cases on UM were often about kids looking for birth parents or special friends in their life, which were heartwarming but kind of plain. The more interesting ones were about people looking for almost-strangers who helped them in certain times, such as a car accident or other dangerous situation. Can any of you list these kind of cases on this thread? The reason I'm so interested in these kind of cases is that they are kind of like the "wanted" cases, except these people are wanted for good deeds instead of bad ones.

It seems like most people here don't place value on the lost loves. When the show originally aired, these (as well as the "Lost Heirs") ranked among my favorite segments. As has been said many times before, these cases wouldn't be profiled in the internet age, but they were an integral part to the UM melange. A great deal of the UM magic lies within the way the variously themed segments could touch different parts of the viewer's emotions.
How about posting some new Lost Loves? Anyone? Are there even any more extant? |

I like the Lost Love segments! They're usually beautifully filmed and quite poignant. I just love the happy endings!

I always liked the Lost Love segments. They weren't my favorite kind of cases but I thought they were important to have on a show that scared you to this level. A good reunion was always great to watch. My favorites were Duncan Gilmore, Linda Sharp and Becky Terry.

John Novotny volunteered in the "big brothers" program and his "little brother" Jeff Fisher was looking to thank him for being such a positive influence in his young life.
http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...of_Jeff_Fisher After being liberated from the Dachau concentration camp, Stephan Ross met a US soldier who gave him food and a little american flag. He moved to the US and was looking for the soldier. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...f_Stephan_Ross There was a mysterious stranger who visited an retired Florida couple. After giving him some food and spending a little while talking with him, the man went on his way. The couple then began receiving Christmas cards and money from an unknown person. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...d_Jean_Johnson This is probably one of my favorites of the Lost Loves. As a child, Tom Vaughn was taken from his mother and placed in an orphanage where he was terribly unhappy. Another little boy there, Brendan (also named Vaughn but spelled differently) befriended Tom and was always doing things that cheered him up and helped him through such a tough time. They were eventually reunited. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w..._of_Tom_Vaughn An american tourist in mexico met a local man who wanted to own his own restaurant. She gave him some money toward achieving that. He was looking to thank her and show how her little investment helped him realize his dream. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w..._Moises_Treves After a car accident, parents were unable to get their baby out of the vehicle. A man came along and saved their daughter but he left before they could speak with him. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...d_Rick_Roberts Two men helped save the life of a Sheriff's deputy who was being attacked by a prisoner who'd gotten loose. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...of_Doris_Smith Two men saved the life of a lady who'd been in a car accident. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...leen_Frangione A suicidal drug addict called a help line and spoke with a woman who saved his life and helped him finally get clean. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...f_James_Vernon A young man was swimming at the beach when he dove in and broke his neck, paralyzing him. He was searching for the woman who pulled him from the water and saved him from drowning. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w..._Phillip_Macri A woman saved a motorcyclist from drowning after he'd been in an accident and landed in a water filled ditch. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...f_Steve_Newton A woman consoled a teenager who was with her grandmother when the grandmother was hit by a car and killed while the two were crossing the street. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...endy_Radcliffe A woman was in a car accident and trapped in a way that prevented her from breathing. A passing motorist stopped and helped by holding her head up carefully so she could breathe until paramedics arrived. She would have suffocated if he hadn't done that. http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w..._of_Wilma_Drew |
