"True Blood" - HBO is Repackaging the First 3 Seasons as 'Select' Blu-ray/DVD Combo Packs

On May 29th HBO will release "True Blood - The Complete 4th Season" on DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc. But the Blu-ray set comes with a twist: it will have the Blu discs, AND the DVD discs, all in one package!

Blu-ray/DVD combo packs are nothing new to releases of theatrical films, but on the TV side of things it's been fairly rare up until now.





The real news is that HBO isn't stopping these "True Blood" combo packs with The Complete 4th Season.

On the same date, May 29th, the studio will also re-release the first three seasons in "HBO Select" packages, which puts high-def Blu-ray Discs, standard-format DVD discs, and UltraViolet digitial copies all in the same box (note that the digital copies must be redeemed within 2 years of the street date).

Content of the discs, including extras, will be identical to what the separate DVD and Blu-ray releases previously available have contained.





Below is a look at the artwork for these revised sets, which uses the same key graphics but on the blue-colored banner at the top informs you that this is a combo pack, and the cover also sports the "HBO Select" logo to let you know that multiple formats are included inside.

Price is $79.98 SRP for each of these three, but you can pre-order from Amazon at a discount.
