Movie Did you see The Titanic at the theater in its first run?

My husband and I took my mother to see it. After, we went for dinner. I recall feeling kind of sad, just thinking about all those lives lost. Now here we are, coming upon the 100th anniversary of the tragedy, with no survivors left at all.

My friend and I saw it in a second-run ($1.00) theater back in '98. She'd already seen it, and wanted me to see it, too. This was after the movie had become a phenomenon and won all sorts of Oscars, but before it was released on video. I felt like I was the only person in that theater who was watching the movie for the first time.

Nope. At the time I had zero interest in seeing it. It wasn't "cool" for boys to talk about it back then.

I still have the double-VHS of the movie that I bought when it first came out.

btw, the DVD is currently OOP because James Cameron wants to re-release a new special edition marking the 100th Aniv. and the 3D release.

No...I taped it on TV in 2000, but I may get the DVD of "Titanic".

My mother and I saw it in the theater during my Christmas break (I was a senior in high school at the time) at the beginning of 1998 - January 2nd or 3rd. Interesting experience, but not a movie that I wanted to see again - in the theater or otherwise.

It was just re-released in theaters in 3D. I drove by the theater just an hour ago. I was like OMG!!!! The lines were like they were in its first release. Cameron is going to make allot more money from it again. I will go see it when it's been out for a week or so. Don't like crowds. BTW, I think we should make April 15th a one time holiday for the 100th anniversary of the 1500 lives lost on Titanic.

Yes, my wife dragged me to it. Definitely one of the dullest movies I've sat through at the theater.

I saw it in the theater my senior year of college. I went with a friend and I cried hysterically all the way through it and then for days afterwards. He called me the other day to see if I wanted to go see it again (he was kidding of course.) I will NEVER watch that movie again. It was too upsetting for me the first time around.

When I first saw Titanic I was laughing at one part...

When the ship starts to turn over there's this lady hanging on the railing who loses her grip and slides all the way down the deck. I was like, "That looks fun!"

I saw it in the Theater in February of 1998, the next day I flew from Detroit, Michigan to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and went on a Caribbean Cruise!
