Movie "Silent Night" Arrives on DVD/Blu-ray December 4th

Silent Night, Deadly Night Remake is Underway, Star & Director Revealed
by Ryan Turek
April 04, 2012

The cat is out of the bag on this one.

The Aggression Scale's Steven C. Miller has been teasing, via his Facebook page, that he's at work on a new film up in Canada. And we've been hearing rumblings that it was a "remake."

Variety confirmed today that he is, in fact, doing a remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night which is being simply called Silent Night.

Miller is coming off of a successful SXSW screening of The Aggression Scale - a throwback to '80s action flicks about teens taking on bad guys. Anchor Bay is releasing the film May 29th.

Silent Night is also being handled by Anchor Bay.

Malcolm McDowell is locked in to play a small town sheriff after a maniac who dresses like Santa Claus and terrorizes a small town. Jayson Rothwell penned the updated version of the story.

Richard Sapterstein, Brian Witten and Shara Kay will produce. Look for Silent Night to invade theaters this holiday season.

The pic you see comes courtesy of Miller who posted it on his Facebook page.

Malcolm McDowell Talks "Silent Night, Deadly Night" Remake
by Ryan Turek
April 09, 2012

Steven C. Miller is readying Silent Night - a remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night - which is getting ready to roll cameras soon and is on track for a holiday 2012 release.

Miller, who landed on the genre scene with Automaton Transfusion, recently completed The Aggression Scale (arriving next month). With his latest effort, he's getting to work with the legendary Malcolm McDowell.

IFC spoke with the actor about his turn in the remake...

McDowell has played his share of villains and he told IFC that he's eager to play Silent Night's Cooper, a sheriff on the trail of the film's killer Santa.

"I'm the good guy and I'm chasing the bad Santa," he said. "That’s one of the reasons I wanted to do it. I’m happy to do it and I hope it’s going to be good."

Asked if he had seen the original Silent Night, Deadly Night, McDowell told IFC he had not and did not intend to.

Well, this was the same guy who played Caligula in the movie "Caligula" (I saw the ending and it was sooooo fake!) And the main guy from "A Clockwork Orange", so I'm surprised he's NOT the murderer in the film!

Posted by MrDisgusting
April 24, 2012

Bloody Disgusting exclusively learned that the slashing begins on a snowy Christmas Eve in Cryer, WI. The normally quiet town is bustling with activity as the the residents are getting ready for the big day. The events take place around the towns annual Santa Parade, which has brought a record number of Santas to town.

Deputy Sheriff Aubrey Bradimore (King) is stuck reluctantly working the night shift, dealing with all of the drunken Santas, road closures, and stressed out locals — but things are about to take a deadly turn.

A vicious serial killer, dressed as Santa Claus, has made his own “naughty list” and anyone on it is in big trouble. As the body count rises, Aubrey races to discover the killer’s true identity – but in a town full of Santas, shady characters and dark secrets, finding the real murderer will take more then a Christmas miracle.
