I agree, I'd love to see those too.

Me-TV does show The Guns of Will Sonnett, which was a series Spelling created (1967-1969 on ABC).

The SAME THING happened to Nick at Nite and TV Land as well BEFORE they decended into the abyss they're currently in. I guess Sitcoms make more money than Dramas, so they end up dominating the "Classic" Channels. Before long, it's the same ol same ol. Oh well, I found a solution to that as well, DVDs!

I agree! Aaron Spelling series are overlooked! I grew up on Aaron's shows. He was a genius.

A genius at knowing how stupid the public is and how they'll watch really stupid shows. Family was the only show he produced that wasn't moronic.

Dynasty was alright too.

Whilst his shows didn't win any awards for depth or scriptwriting, they were a form of escapism and I do like to pop my Love Boat dvds on once in a while to take me back to the late 70s.

That is really a matter of taste. Personally, I grew up with the Aaron Spelling shows and yes, they may not have been the type of shows with a social message, but they clearly were well constructed, escapist entertainment that did their job by entertaining generations of people. They were very popular too.

The Love Boat, Fantasy Island and Hotel are three of my favorite shows. They were great escapist fare, and I would love to see more dvd's of Love Boat released...

I never saw an Aaron Spelling show that I didn't like. Now some of his shows did get bad the longer they ran. But the guy was a TV Pioneer and his shows deserve to be seen.

I liked Beverly Hills 90210 back in the day. The shows he did with Darren Dtarr were the best. I think Darren doesn't get enough credit, he created Sex & The City as well.
