oops....repeat performance....I accidentally posted this under "In My Mailbox". JOY!!! You have Freddies Bracelet!!! Lucky girl! I bet you'll never part with it... I know I wouldn't. When I was 25, I saw a Frank Sinatra concert, I brought him a dozen roses, the bouncer let me go under the rope and up the stairs to hand the flowers to him and he turned to me and smiled and as he took the roses, he handed me a hankie and said "I love you too sweatheart and winked at me" YOU COULD HAVE KNOCKED ME OVER WITH A FEATHER! My dad was with me and he was more excited than I was! Anyway, I have that hankie in a frame on my wall, its got his face and signature silkscreened on it. After the show Mr. Sinatra had the bouncer come over and invite me and my dad to the reception where my dad got to shake his hand and he thanked me for the flowers and said it was refreshing to see a girl my age appreciate his music. It was a nite I will never forget. I don't know what that hankie is worth, but to me, its PRICELESS. |

I'm not into Sinatra but what a neat story there! That is really neato! Too bad you couldn't have met Freddie that way. I have a hanky that belongs to Arlo Guthrie. It's one of those disposable paper hankies where ya pitch them in the trash when your done with them. How I got it was being friends with Arlo & all he was telling me about a book that he thought might help my hubby Mike with his diabetes (At the time I hadn't yet been diagnosed with diabetes). He wanted to write down the name of the book & publisher for me. He didn't have any paper to write it down on so he went onto his bus & got the paper hankie to write it on. A few months later I finally found the book after much searching & bought it. Next time I saw Arlo I had him autograph it. I keep the hankie in my scrapbgook of Arlo. I have 2 strands of his hair. He was so nice to let me keep them after I saw them loose on his jacket.

Tylersmistress that is so cool. I have always enjoyed Frank Sanatras music as well with Frank ganging up with the Rat Pack. Thank you for sharing such a sweet memory with us. I can imagine your father meeting Frank was so exciting!

Oh yeah, a coupla times TVLAND showed this interesting tv special of the RATPACK that was from the early 60's & really showcased them & was classic for them. If you like the RATPACK you'll love it. & If Sinatra etc isn't your style you'll still find them interesting...
It hit me back yrs ago women would go to stars like Sinatra & Tom Jones, & Wayne Newton etc & try to wipe the sweat off their forehead with a hanky or the star would toss out to the audience one they had used to wipe their forehead with. I wonder if anyone ever did that with Freddie or if Freddie did that with anyone? I'd be the first to wipe the sweat off Freddie's forehead with a hanky.

I did up 2 pics of this scenario. The floral print thingys in the pics are hankies.
This pic depicts the fans wiping the sweat off his forehead with a hanky: |

In this one he is tossing his hanky out in the audience for some lucky girl to catch (Don't we all wish we could've gone to see him in Vegas):
