I just came across this 1979 article stating that a Mary Tyler Moore sitcom was being planned to debut in the fall of 1980, after the cancellation of her two short-lived variety shows. This is the first I ever heard about that. I wonder what happened with those plans?

Yeah, I wonder too. I am guessing that she raised the bar so high on TMTMS, that she never was able to re-achieve that success on TV again.

That was about the time that she was oscar nominated for Ordinary People. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Perhaps, but she never had success on TV again after that.

I will, even if it's not that good in the beginning I will still be giving myself a history lesson.

Hey Sol, I have a pen and paper handy to write down guest stars, people that seem familiar and check them out on IMDB.com after the episode. Do you do that?
