Question Are There Any "Classic" TV Shows You Think Are Bad?

This of course is just personal opinions, but are there any specific tv shows that are deemed classics that you actually loath???

I will chose one from each decade that are classics and didn't like

I Love Lucy...."50's

Andy Griffith......"60's"

Mash..............."70's

Cheers............."80's

Roseanne.........."90's

All are considered classics and I can watch any of them for more than 10 secs

I would have to agree with 4 of those, but I did like Andy Griffith.

Never liked Cheers, the Cosby Show, Home Improvement Growing Pains, Who's the Boss, Murphy Brown, or Family Matters. And while I don't "loathe" it, I never really got many laughs out of I Love Lucy

There's plenty of terrible, terrible shows from the "classic" era. I guess people look at past decades through rose-tinted glasses but there's crap in every decade. I'd say a fairly large portion of 80s sitcoms that weren't Cheers and The Cosby Show were crap (not *all*, but it wasn't a very good decade for sitcoms) and the 60s had a lot of overly silly fluff.

The hate for I Love Lucy on a forum that's supposed to celebrate classic TV is somewhat astonishing though...

I never cared for Designing Women. I liked Murphy Brown until it got too political. Friends I hated. I liked most of the sitcoms from the 50's, 60's, and 70's and I can't think of any off the top of my head that I hated.

Yeah I agree with you Sonny, the 70's had so many great sitcoms, I really can't say I hated any of them. The one sitcom I could never get into, that I tried really hard to like was Andy Griffith. I just never got it.

I couldn't get into Roseanne. I tried, but the whole "white trash" vibe was too forced.

Same thing with Friends. It was so POPULAR that I hated it because everyone acted like it was the best sitcom in the history of television. While it had it's great moments and could be funny, it wasn't nearly as well done as others.

Agreed on all except Gomer Pyle, that show is just too darn funny.

I'm curious as to why shows like Friends, and Roseanne etc. are even mentioned in this thread. They are not considered classics, and will never be.The same goes for most(not all) shows made during the 1990s-now.Even the 1980s while better was still a much weaker decade for TV shows when compared to the 1950s-70s.

Anyhow to answer the original question. Mork and Mindy is one that stands out.
