I know I'm not. I love the show, but am not the fan I thought I was.
So who is a super fan of this wonderful show? And I'd like to know why? For me it's simple. It's just plain great comedy and not like the sitcoms today. Plus it's the only sitcom that was based on an island. |

GI wasn't a part of my childhood but in the 13 months since I've had the DVDs I've watched it so many times I've lost count. The music, the island setting, the crazy bamboo inventions. The fact that you can watch it today and it still feels fresh. I just love Gilligan himself. I think Bob Denver did a grand job. I love all the others, too. In fact, there's nothing about this show that I don't love! Far from being 'dumb slapstick' and all that other stuff the censors called it, I think it's very cleverly written and beautifully performed. I can watch a few episodes of GI and immediately I'm transported out of my world and into theirs.
Why on earth did they want to be rescued?? They have the best life right there on that island!!
