Batman is a really cool show. I can't wait until it comes on.
Adam West was a big star in the 1960's as the title character. It's too bad that he was typecast afterwards. One thing that is strange is that when the Batman movie was being produced in 1989, he wanted to play the same role he was typecast as but the producers declined. He was even denied a cameo as Bruce Wayne's father. I guess everybody today always associate Adam West as Batman. Did anybody know that?

It is a shame that Adam West was typecast as Batman for the rest of his days. Same thing happen to George Reeves who played Superman but, when Michael Keaton turned down the role for a 2nd Batman movie he was ostracized for it.

Michael Keaton was in "Batman Returns". He turned down the third, "Batman Forever". Ironically, Val Kilmer was Batman for one movie.

Don't attack me all at once, because I have to express my opinion about the Batman television show.

I loved Batman as a kid, but now I prefer the movie Batman and the Cartoon (90s version) to the television series. When I think of Batman, I think of a man who saw his parents brutally murdered, and as a result he has a large chip on his shoulder.

The Batman I am used to seeing now, is vicious, and he will stop at nothing to get the person responsible for killing his parents.

In my opinion, Adam West does not bring this out and his portrayal of Batman, his version is a kinder more gentler Batman, when in reality their was nothing kind or gentle about Batman.

Don't get me wrong, I do love Adam West and Burt Ward and their comical portrayal of the Cape Crusaders. But I wish that they allowed Adam West to play his role on the edge.

But I realize the series ran in the 60s, where the writers and producers had to be very careful on what they put on air due to the censors.

But once again, this is only my opinion.

What really amazes me is that during it's 2 season run, there were 120 episodes...pretty amazing! Probably due to the double airings in the first year.

I've heard a lot of good things about "Batman"...can't wait to see it!

Sean, you are correct, I vaguely remember the show when it was on in prime time, I must have been about 3 or 4 years old during its prime time run in 1967. But I do remember my older brothers watching the series, and if I am not mistaken it came on 2 or 3 nights a week during its run on network television, which is strange for a prime time program.

Yeah...according to one of my books, one episode would air at 7:30 (I think this maybe Central, I dont kno, or it may have been put on this early for the kiddies) on Wednesday, then at the same time, same Bat channel the next day...ABC got a lot of ratings like this it's first season.

JT, I think you are right about Peyton Place, but that show was a little bit different, because it was like a soap opera ala "Young & the Restless" which happen to run at night.

I like the TV version better! It was supposed to be and was comic book camp! The movies didn't capture that at all!

I thought Val Kilmer was the best Movie Batman.
