Fox Shelves "I Hate My Teenage Daughter", Will Expand "American Idol" on Wednesdays in April

Fox has abandoned its plan to shift struggling midseason comedy "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" to Wednesdays and will shelve the series, expanding "American Idol" to two hours starting in April.

The network announced Thursday that "Teenage Daughter", which had been slated to move from its Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. slot as part of the network's new comedy block effective April 4, will instead go on an extended hiatus until the summer.

In its most recent airing this week, "Teenage Daughter" notched a series low in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic, sinking to below time slot competitor in ABC's "Cougar Town".

After notching another series low Tuesday night, Fox has opted to pull "I Hate My Teenage Daughter" sooner than expected.

The freshman comedy -- which the network had planned to yank from its Tuesday night comedy block after its April 3 airing -- will be removed from the schedule immediately, the network announced Wednesday.

Instead, repeats of "Raising Hope" will air in its 8:30 p.m. slot on March 27 and April 3.

Just the title of that sounds stupid. I mean, what a terrible title for a show!

I actually really liked that show, I thought it was a cute concept for a sitcom. And Jaime Pressly (who plays one of the moms) is a great actress I liked her when she was on My Name is Earl. I hope they still aire it this summer and bring it back next season.
