Mar 13, 2012 by Natalie Abrams "Rescue Me" is among the seven programs being honored by the Television Academy. The Fifth Annual Television Academy Honors, hosted by Emmy winner Dana Delany, recognizes programs who use the power of television to draw attention to important social issues, including breast cancer, 9/11 first responders and the civil justice system. The event will be held at the Beverly Hills Hot on Wednesday, May 2. "Television Academy Honors was started to celebrate excellent programming that not only entertains, but also presents a unique or significant look at the human condition and important social issues," said Television Cares Committee Co-Chair John Shaffner. "In our fifth year, it is so exciting to recognize a continued, diverse line-up of honorees that are using the medium of television for good." The other honorees are: "Men of a Certain Age" "Harry's Law" "Dr. Oz" "Five" "Hot Coffee" "Women, War & Peace" http://www.tvguide.com/News/TV-Acade...e-1044775.aspx |
