Beaver Trivia,
Every episode of LITB not only drew from either the producers' lives as kids, or experiences from their own kids, but they would often quote or talk about a real life show or person. Rod Serling, Frank Sinatra, Bennett Cerf, Sal Mineo (mentioned several times) made the show even MORE reflective on actual life experiences. In the classic episode, "Wally's Practical Joke" where Lumpy puts the smoke bombs in Wally and Eddie's cars, and than Eddie insists on revenge by chaining Lumpy's car to a tree, Beaver tells about "When Wally's car blew up, and than Eddie's car blew up, there were more explosions than in the coming attractions for The Longest Day."! (Movie) So what I found here to show, is the actual trailer for "The Longest Day!" LOL! Check out the explosions in it, and it makes Beaver's joke even more funny! http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi1458569497/ Jack |

In "The Book Report" when Beaver tries to write a report about the classic Three Musketeers novel from the slapstick musical farce movie that has nothing to do with the book, This is information about the movie Gilbert and he saw:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032028/ One of the songs is called, "The Chicken Soup Plucking Song!!!" LOL! Jack PS. Yea, The Three Musketeers did a lot of singing!!!! LOL! Here are the songs in the movie! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032028/soundtrack And Here is The Chicken Soup Plucking Song! (You Tube) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X46Sc_yy490 Could you imagine Jerry in high school after Beaver ended and for his English class or something he would have to do a book report on The Three Musketeers?!! He'd could have seen the assignment in class, and I'll bet would have just started cracking up! LOL! And if his teacher had seen that episode, and especially had a sense of humor, he/she could have said: "Now, I will only accept a report from the book. No moves, or TV shows.....Got that Beaver?" LOL!!!!!! |
