Here I am! I prefer the later ones, where they had more control over the music. I'd say between HEADQUARTERS and HEAD. After Peter Tork left, they began going down in quality.

Of the ones I've heard,"Headquarters" particularly Mike Nesmith's "Love Is Only Sleeping".I'm looking forward to seeing the "Head" movie as well as hearing the soundtrack in its entirety.In recent years,there has been internet petitioning to garner the Pre-Fab Four a slot in the Rock Hall of Fame in Cleveland.Highly controversial.

This song is from PAC&Jones which is my favorite Monkee lp--today

I never cared much for Monkees music, a couple songs here and there are OK, but I've never had a desire to own any of the albums. I like melodic rock from the 70's & 80's, that comprises a majority of my album collection. Starz, No Dice, Head East, BTO, Lake, Alan Parsons Project, just to name a few. Great stuff.

Because I felt like contributing to the discussion. Despite not being a big Monkees fan, I did say a few of their songs are OK, Last Train To Clarksville is probably my favorite song of theirs. I've just never had a desire to own any of the albums.
