Sofia Vergara to Host 'SNL' on April 7th 2012 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

On the Jonah Hill-hosted March 10 installment of the late-night sketch comedy show, it was revealed that spicy "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara will take a spin as "SNL" host in the April 7 episode of the show. The Golden Globe- and Emmy-nominated actress plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the hit ABC sitcom and has her hands full with a clothing line and spokesperson gigs for CoverGirl and Pepsi.

The musical guest is One Direction, the British boy band currently invading American shores and hypnotizing teen and tween girls. The band came in third place on the seventh season of the U.K.'s "X Factor." The band's debut album comes out March 13, 2012 in the U.S. and will appear on an upcoming episode of Nickelodeon's "iCarly."

Expect lots of shameless mugging and slobbering over the actress by the guys in the cast, most notably Samberg, who always does that whenever a hot female guest appears.

Sofía Vergara's thick accent and mispronunciation of words is sure to make for an interesting episode of "SNL" when the "Modern Family" star hosts on April 7.

Still, Vergara is not worried about her live "SNL" debut.

She told TVGuide.com at Wednesday's PaleyFest event:

"I'm excited, I'm going to do what I always do in acting, because I'm so new, I try to follow advice of the people who really know. So whatever ... they believe I can do ... I'll definitely do it."
