Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich says a new ABC television series is evidence that the entertainment industry harbors anti-Christian bias.

Gingrich is criticizing the comedy-drama "GCB".

The series began airing last Sunday. ABC's website describes the series as a "funny, sassy and heartwarming drama."





The former House speaker says no network would run a show with such a title if the word "Muslim" were used in place of "Christian."

(He's referring to the show's original title, "Good Christian Bitches".)

Gingrich says anti-Christian bigotry is considered acceptable by the entertainment industry but Islam is protected.



Gingrich made the comments Friday at a rally in Gulfport, Miss.

I don't believe ABC is anti-christian. The network just needs to make money, and if GBC is making money for them, they are going to air it. If you are offended by the show, then just don't watch it. I don't watch it. I don't watch Jersey Shore either, but I've seen a few clips. Jersey Shore is ridiculous. Some say it portrays Italian-Americans in a very negative light, but I don't see any outcry of MTV being anti-Italian. I think the show totally sucks, but the fact is that it makes the network tons of money. They have every right to air it, and ABC has every right to air GCB.

That's a good point Steffy. Newt is just trying to push more of this "War on Christians" garbage. Personally, I find the show very funny. If anything, it is more a portrayel of hypocrites than Christians.

Of course there's a war on Christianity from the so-called mainstream culture.

Ever hear anyone from Hollywood or the LSM "news" shows talk about Rick Santorum and how dangerous he is?

Granted, Obama says he's a Christian and he's not been attacked that way, but the reason he's not attacked is that everyone knows he's not serious about his so-called Christianity.

And Gingerich is 100% correct about ABC's treatment of Christians vs Muslims. They'd never put a show on showing Muslims (hypocritical or otherwise) in a bad light, because of fear of a violent reaction.

What does Obama have to do with GCB or Newts opinion about the show? If Newt does not agree with the show, then don't watch. There are a lot of things that I don't agree with on TV, and I choose not to watch it, I don't have a big hissy fit about it.

True...America is pushing Christians out and soon the Christians will be fed to the Lions or exiled to Alaska...or both!

Newt doesn't know what he is talking about. The show is not mocking Christianity, lol. It is a comedic take on people in Dallas. It's harmless. He should watch the show before he talks because the only uproar about the show was the B in the title not the C, lol! I saw the pilot and this week's episode that airs tonight at 10, so I have seen it.

I was pointing out that the Obamas are not a target of Hollywood and the Left's war on Christianity, simply because no one takes their self-proclaimed Christianity seriously. A real Christian could never get the nomination of the Democrat party.

Newt (or anyone else) has a perfect right to complain about a TV show. Or isn't this the United States of America any more?

"GCB" star Annie Potts is firing back at Newt Gingrich after the Republican presidential candidate criticized her new Texas dramedy for exemplifying what he described as "anti-Christian bigotry ... in the entertainment industry."

In an interview on "The View" Potts defended the show from Gingrich's jabs. "I don't know what all the fuss is about," she began.





When Joy Behar brought up Gingrich's criticisms of the show -- "the good Christian husband that he is" -- Potts had a few barbs of her own for the thrice-married former Speaker of the House.

"I did feel that it was especially rich coming from him, that he called our little TV show un-Christian when he was carrying on an affair while he was impeaching the president for doing the same. It's like, you know, look in the mirror honey, I think our show may be for you."

She is so right. Just watch the show sometime, and you'll see that Newt's past and present behavior exemplifies the behavior of the "Good Christian B*****s" on this show. LOL! This show isn't about mocking Christians, it's about exposing hypocrits. Newt fits that role perfectly.
