Default So if Wanda was on a fixed income and having problems paying her rent, what the hell.

was having a RENT PARTY going to do after about 3 months?-lol Wouldn't she be back in the same situation again if her financial cash flow is the same?

So if this was March of 1975, and her rent was paid for March, April, and May, what happens in June?-lol

LOL
Wanda aka Helen Martin went back and forth in between. She was on "Sanford & Son" playing a few characters. One of them was named Millie. She also played a woman named Millie on "What's Happening!!" on a few episodes and she played another character. This was after her stint on "Baby I'm Back."

Yes, I remember her on What's Happening. Roger paid Millie to babysit for Dee, and Millie fell fast asleep while telling Dee a story. She did have some good stints on other shows.

I did notice along with Helen martin, theodore wilson also maintained his role on Good Times as Sweet daddy after his show was cancelled in 1977 and Helen martin's show was cancelled in 1978

Theodore also played the club owner in the episode where J.J. had to perform or else he would get beat up by those thugs.

Theodore also appeared on "What's Happening!!" as a guy playing poker with the boss of Roger's mama and he also played Al Dunbar, the bootlegging guy in the Doobie Bros. episode. He was married in real-life to Ms. Buchanan, the principal, from White Shadow. He died real young.

BTW, shouldn't "What's Happening!!" have been with a question mark instead of two exclamation points at the end? It is a question afterall.

Maybe she just hit a rough patch and was short on funds for a few months and with the rent assistance, was able to get back on her feet. I know sometimes if I get even a small windfall, it can make all the difference to get my finances back on track.

I guess titling the the show "Here Is What's Happening!!" or "This Is What's Happening!!" didn't have quite the same ring to it, but I have wondered the same.

It was no reason for Wanda to be in the projects alone anyway when she could have been in senior citizen housing

Wanda was still able to do things on her own, and there are old people who do not want to live in old folks homes. No one in my family has ever lived in an old folks home.
