Lightbulb NBC needs to change the look and promotion of its shows

Is it just me or does this network seem to be perpetually trapped in 1995 still ? Every show has the same look. Urban (particularly New York based) workplace sitcoms, done on film, and dominated by steely colors (blues, blacks, greys). Try something new and risky for once. Plus if I hear that announcer during the summertime say, "If you haven't seen it, it's new to you", I think I'm going to shoot myself. Get rid of that doofus already. The era of O.J. Simpson is over.

Yeah, i agree... I'm MUCH more fond of ABC's "You're watching __________ for the FIRST time, with Gumby & Pokey". Bright colors, a bit retro... fits me just right!

But ya know what I hate that both ABC and NBC do? The slow-motion, serious-music "Congratulations to ________ on their Emmy Award Nominations" spots. I mean, come ON! It's a friggin' SIT-COM! We're talking FRAZIER here, not West Wing!

Ya know, i actually like that, i think it is nice of the networks to give thier actors and shows reconigtion for doing something great! i wish CBS would do that!

anyway, i also think that the whole MUST SEE TV, thing needs to go! i miss the 80's and when the networks had catchy, wonderful slogans, like " Proud as a peacock" or " CBS.. Welcome Home" .

I totally disagree NBC is doing a great job. And sitcoms are great I prefer sitcoms to drama. I only watch two dramas and ER and Law and Order. It's not just a sitcom as factsoflife said. They are shows that make us happy and make us laugh. And it is good that NBC congratulates its award winners. Letting them know they care. In my Opion NBC is doing a great job thats why they are the number one network this year.

I totally agree with you! The netwrorks did such a great job back in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's with their catchy slogans and promos. And I LOVED those mini-music video promos they did. It's like they had so much pride for their programming back then.

I downloaded ABC's "You and Me and ABC" which was from the very early 80s around 81 or 82 or 83. Which was one of those mini music videos. I love that song! "You and me we got a lot to share....you and me...and ABC!"
