Default I Just Got My Season 5 and I am Missing....

The inside liner notes with the episode guide. I just got the DVDs. I ordered off of Amazon. Did they not put liner notes inside the Season 5 package?

Did it come in a black case or a clear case? If it's a black case, pull out the paper insert containing the cover art. On the other side of this you should find the episode guide. I understand that some of the DVDs that got distributed were erroneously in this black DVD case. If it were one of the clear cases, you'd be able to see through to the episode list. The black case hides it.

I haven't received mine yet, so I don't know what case I'll be getting, but this seems like a really bad screw up to me.

I think it is called "saving a few bucks". The problem is, if you keep pulling the insert out, it eventually becomes worn.

Is there any reason why Lucy shows are not offered on iTunes? Quite frankly, I would prefer to download it off there anyway rather than having the DVDs.

I don't really know the answer to that other than to say that it appears most shows that are available on DVD aren't on iTunes. I did a search on their directory for the first five or so classic sitcoms that popped into my mind -- shows like All in the Family, the Dick Van Dyke Show, Happy Days -- and none of them were there, but all of them are on DVD.

It continues to amaze me how many stupid mistakes are made by so many major companies, mine as well came from amazon in a black case, all the other "Here's Lucy" releases come in clear cases, so I automatically figured out to pull the insert out, only problem was now I had to find a clear case that held the same amount of discs that I could use to switch from my over 500 TV on DVD collection sets I own....My answer turned out to be the Warner exclusive season 1 of "The Courtship Of Eddie's Father"......so if you have that in your collection, just switch them as it comes in a clear case with no writing on the back of the insert.

I also got one of the sets with the black case. Luckily, I have two copies of the first season set. I had forgotten that I had an extra copy; one of the producers had given me an advance copy of S1 back in '09 before its official release. I had already pre-ordered a copy through Amazon, so once that one arrived, I had two copies of S1. The copy of S1 that ultimately arrived from Amazon -- the one I actually paid for -- was never opened and I had forgotten I even had it until last week when I was trying to figure out what to do about this black case. So I swapped one of the S1 clear cases with this S5 black one, so I now I have a clear case for S5. And, consequently, I have a black case version of S1 and a clear case version of S1.

Speaking of Amazon and the black case, I noticed this afternoon that if you looked up S5 on Amazon, they had a message that they were not selling it at this time because of a technical issue brought to their attention by customers, and were directing people to seek out other vendors. I'm sure this black case problem is the issue they were referring to! But I just checked and they have removed that message, so I assume that means the issue is now resolved and no more black cases will be going out, at least not from Amazon.

Thank goodness for the other buyers who haven't bought Season 5 of Here's Lucy yet. At least there's a chance they'll luck out and get the clear case!

I just replaced by black case with a my Bones season 1 clear case. That Bones case uses the same case as the previous Here's Lucy sets. Here's hoping we don't get the black case problem again with the final season.
