It looks like it was taken from the "Baby Fat" episode where Alan calls Rob to ask him to go to Connecticut, no ?

Those books in front of Dick and Mary look like scripts to me.

So couldn't this pic have been from a rehearsal, which is the only way the photographer could get close enough to get such a great shot?

Wow...how weird it is to see them on the set in color! I never realized DVD's hair was so grey. I always imagined it dark brown in the black and white episodes.

I think when the show started he was indeed dark brown but after 5 years he was already showing plenty of grey. He's pretty grey in the movies he made soon after the show ended. When your hair is dark brown it seems to start greying very rapidly. My dad's hair was nearly black when he was 35. By 45 he was almost white.
