Almost a week after "Seinfeld" star Daniel Von Bargen attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head, an episode of the show entitled "The Suicide" -- during which Jerry Seinfeld jokes about people who try and commit suicide, but fail -- aired on TBS.
The episode originally aired in 1992 and Von Bargen, who played Mr. Kruger, didn't begin his stint on the show until years later. The episode aired again last night. http://www.tmz.com/ |

I'm not one of those PC people, but I don't think suicide is ever a laughing matter.

The timing is unfortunate but since the show is in reruns I'm sure this airing was scheduled long before news of Mr. Van Bargen's suicide attempt became public knowledge.

That was such an awful thing, but I'm glad he's somewhat all right. I honestly think that the timing of airing the episode was just coincidental. I can't imagine TBS airing it purposely unless it was already slated to air. I'm sure that the cast (especially Jason Alexander) was pretty shaken up by the news. I checked his Twitter page and he hasn't mentioned anything about it, but I imagine that he's heard the news by now.

I'm sure it was not intentional.
