Default My made up intros to the season 7 that never was...

Season premiere: http://dai.ly/yRAuaK

Let's say Sam was going back to college in this one, so she'd be included in the opening. Mrs. Jacoby watches Matthew as the family goes out for the night. Everyone else that was shown in season 6 is also on the cast, including Ernie, now Mama's boyfriend.

Episode 2: http://dai.ly/AFlV9L

In this episode, Sam has already gone back to college and Matthew is not in it because he's at a friend's house and Marty is just not shown. The story can revolve around everyone else on the cast, and includes the addition of Maggie's husband to the opening now. Let's say in this episode it revolves around the restaurant at Marty's, gambling on a football game or something of the sort.

Episode 3: http://dai.ly/yCXkmn

In this episode, let's say they went all budget cut, like they did in several of the last shows of season 6. In this one, just 6 cast members appear. Let's say the ones in it try to save Maggie and BJ's marriage and bring them to a therapist or something...

Series finale: http://dai.ly/vZgD36

This would be many episodes later, during the last 2 parter series finale, in which Nell gets married to James Roland, who returns now that all the kids are grown and out of the house. The ENTIRE 7th season cast is present, as is Special Guest Star Tom Bosley as Mrs. Jacoby's never seen before husband, Vern.

Notes:

Season 7, the theme would be this pace. Slowed down, still sung by Nell, but to this tempo, sort of like how Growing Pains slowed their theme down in their final season.

Nell would still take the family photo, only think of an all new one, not the one I used...think of one with more of the cast, like Mama Maybelle, Ernie, Maggie, Marty, BJ, and Mrs. Jacoby included in it as well, or, at least Mama Maybelle, since she's Nell's mother.

Instead of shots of the cast members behind the scenes from episodes in poses, they'd be pictures in frames appearing onscreen...sort of like Roseanne did in its final 2 seasons.

There would be no more "Scenes from episodes" to fill in where missing cast members are to complete the entire theme/intro...instead, if there are budget cuts, stills of New York sites with be zoomed in, maybe 2 next to one another or one between each cast member before the "Executive Producers" title shows up with more stills of New York.

During the last few seconds of the theme, instead of a live action shot, we see Nell taking the photo of the family again, then the Gimme A Break! logo re-appears during the final line of the theme song.

I'm only doing these 4 to make others get a feel of what they could have been like. They are similar to the original format, just pictures instead of clips from the show. But the feel would have been slower paced with the music and the opening sequenc totally re-done to fit the style of the theme.

In season 7, let's say we have a few Special Guest Stars here and there that would be featured in the opening credits...

Estelle Getty is definitely one of them. I could definitely have seen a crossover episode with her and Bea, or at least just her as her Golden Girls character. I think Sophia could have taken a trip alone to NYC. I don't think we really would need Bea in it, but if so, she'd also be a Special Guest Star in the episode. I could see Grandpa falling for Sophia. It would definitely work. They were both kinky in their own ways on each other's respected shows

Redd Buttons would have also been a good Special Guest Star. Maybe he could have played someone on the boat with Grandpa who stayed in NYC when Grandpa moved away. An old friend he met on the boat, or a foe of some sort. He'd be polish, but not have the accent (just like Grandpa).

Since it had already been cancelled, Isabelle Sanford from the Jeffersons would have made a good cousin to Nell, who came to visit.

Tom Bosley, for sure would have made a good Vern Jacoby. I could have seen his character being the way he was on The Castaways On Gilligan's Island with Marion Ross as his wife....instead, Yvonne Wilder would have been her replacement. His character would have been similar to the one he played on Gilligan's, and he and Nell would have not seen eye to eye unlike she and Tina do. He could have been Special Guest Star in a good several shows since his character lived in the building.

Maggie's mother could have been played by Ellen Travolta, or whatever her name was from Charles In Charge, even if it was just for one episode. We heard of her mother, never saw her. She could have been widowed/divorced and Maggie could have been her only child.

Marty's mother could have been played by Carol Burnette.

Then the major guest stars who'd appear in more than 1 show would have been Loretta, Howard and Jerome, as they were now living in NYC. In the series finale, they would have definitely been there.
