Which episode does Howard take his driving test in? It's strange that he knew how to fly a plane, but didn't know how to drive a car.

Maybe Howard was afraid of all of the traffic on the ground -- he was a funny character full of quirks!!
However I can't recall this episode?? Looks like we will just have to keep watching. . |

That's a big goof up, because in the Season 2 episode "Clink Shrink", Howard says that his car was stolen.

I've been watching season 6 episodes that I dvr'd and I happen to see the episode in question tonight. It's titled "Carol Ankles for Indie-Prod". Basically the plot is that Carol is nominated for Secretary of the Year by Bob and Jerry only to find out that she has quit to go to work for Carlin. The original air date was March 4, 1978.

Really, it's never said that Howard is LEARNING to drive -- just that he has to take the Illinois written test again. I just watched that episode Thursday night, to finish up the Season 6 episodes that I dvr'd (and was transferring to dvd in case they don't release the commercial ones).
