I was wondering also, hope it comes out as if It did not come out it would be about the most silliest thing ever done from a DVD company. I think people would be really annoyed if it did not come out as they could of included the last 13 on Season 5.

You should get season 4 and 5 if you have Season 1-3.

This question was addressed on the Shout! Factory Community Page before the spam took it over. It seems that Shout! Factory's relationship with MGM/Fox (I don't know how Fox ever got involved with these releases) is responsible for the hangup. I do know that Peyton Place, owned by Fox, is similarly held up because they want more money for the rights to any more releases of that series (there have been 2 releases previously) than Shout! can afford to pay and still make a profit. I have also heard rumors that this last season is being held up because the Granny character from The Beverly Hillbillies makes a brief appearance in one episode and that entangles more rights just because of that. Brian Ward of Shout! has stated that it dosen't look good at this time for that release. For now, if you buy the 2005 MGM release of "The Best of Mister Ed, Vol. 2", you will get three of the sixth season episodes: "Ed A Go-Go", "Coldfinger" and "Ed Breaks The Hip Code". It's frustrating to see a series get released almost all the way through and then see it hang up on the last 13 shows. Once again, like the iffy quality on Hazel, I don't blame Shout!, but the greedy and indifferent supplying company.

May not even end up getting seasons 4 and 5. For financial reasons I may have to sell the first three seasons. Nothing like being poor

I was not going to post here again because I don't agree with some of the policies concerning politics on this site, but your message really got me. I too, some years ago, had a huge collection of DVDs I was forced to sell. This was in 2007 when I was laid off and didn't know if I could pay my rent or not. What I got for my beloved collection was a pittance. I was out of work for nearly three years and I finally got a job. Because of my age and the money I was making when I got laid off, everyone thought I was over qualified and wouldn't accept a small salary. Well, I finally got hired at much less money than I had been making, and I have two years to go and I can retire, and get more from my Social Security than I am making currently as a salary. My advice to you is don't give up, hang in there and if you have to sell something, you'll get it back later as I did. God has blessed me, He'll do the same for you.

Just pm TJ and you can have the politics board blocked for you. Anyone that has political messages in their signatures, just put them on ignore. That's the best way to deal with it.

Well, other cast members from the Beverly Hillbillies appeared in some episodes from earlier seasons of Mister Ed too. Donna Douglas, Raymond Bailey, and Nancy Kulp. Not in their Beverly Hillbillies roles, but they're still actors from that show.

But another company (CBS?) owns the character of Granny. If Irene Ryan had made an appearance as another character it wouldn't matter but because she appeared as Granny, they have to clear the rights with the company that owns the character.

I hate that season 6 hasn't been released. It's a true shame. This is such a classic and it needs to be completed on DVD.

Luckily I have never been in this desperate of a situation, but I have always thought to myself, that no matter what, no cable, no whatever, I will always have my DVDs to watch. I would keep them if I were you, you will just have to spend money all over again to replace them when things get better. I won't go into the political reasons for all the unemployment during the last 5 years (don't want to lose Leslie, by the way I've missed you Leslie on the Hazel message board) but my sympathy is with you, Mickeymac.

Mr. Ed is a show that I've just gotten into during the past few months. AntennaTV is just starting the series today with the first episode which I had never seen before. I love Alan Young!

Default Last Season

Antenna TV's currently showing Mr. Ed. If you get it - there's only 13 episodes in the last season, so it can be easily recorded and squeezed onto one DVD (or 2, if you have no time to skip over the commercials).

Irene Ryan's guest appearance is in "Love and the Single Horse." She appears in her Granny guise, offering Wilbur some of her "spring tonic" and inviting him home to Beverly Hills. She technically never identifies herself as "Granny."

I suppose Mister Ed avoided legal issues airing it on broadcast TV, but it doesn't appear as if the lawyers will be so lenient with the DVD release.

Season 6 (all but the first 2 episodes) will air between Saturday, May 3 & Sunday, May 4 on Hallmark Movie Channel.

Also, if you're a DIRECTV customer, this channel will be free this weekend!
