Ice Station Winslow is a Syndicated Episode on DVD - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I bought the second season DVD set and was disappointed to find that episode 14, Ice Station Winslow, is an edited episode. It features the shortened theme song and the voice over in the end credits, plus the warner brothers logo. It runs at 21:50. It features the version shown on Nick at Nite, scenes that were shown on ABC Family were edited out. Other than that episode the rest seem unedited. (The first two are first run edited because they were originally an hour long episode). I made sure to check other episodes and they run at an average of 23:18. The n word is seen on Laura's locker in Fight for Your Right, and Judy and Richie playing hide and seek in Skip to My Leiu, which was edited out in both syndicated versions is shown.

It's a shame that we wait FOREVER for this to come out and then it's edited. Hopefully this is the ONLY edit on this set but one is one too many. I can't wait to read the review.

Just because no one responded doesn't mean they don't think it's a big deal.

A similar situation happened with a Christmas Perfect Strangers episode that was on a collection of Warner Bros. Television Christmas episodes. It, too, was a syndicated print. However, Warner did take this to consideration, and said that they would review the many master tapes in their vaults, in the hopes of locating the full-length version, and if season 4 ever gets released, they will replace it with the full-length one.

The episode was “The Gift of the Mypiot" from season 4.
