Question Question about iOffer...how do they stay online?

iOffer has been online now for about 10 years, allowing people to sell recorded TV shows that they have recorded via VHS, DVD, etc. To my knowledge this is illegal and goes against copyright laws.

I'm just curious how this site has not been shut down by law enforcement in 10 years? I see people on the site who has sold for years TONS of TV series on recordable DVD disc and have made an absolute fortune doing so!

Maybe I should get in on the action? LOL...seems to good to be true. Anyone care to comment?

I fully agree (there are a lot of sitcoms from the 70's and 80's that I would never be able to watch if it weren't for that site.) If the studios would release them I would buy them that way but they refuse to releaes, what do they expect people to do?

But getting back to the legalities of it all, how does iOffer stay on the web? Or is this a hush hush topic?

As I see on the website--this is collectors selling to collectors. I am not sure what that means as far as legality issues but dont go rocking the boat as I would hate to see ioffer disappear

I think ioffer is a great place. If official releases came out, I suggest buying those, but if not, buy from ioffer. That's the only place you'll find some shows. I've seen they have lots of great unfinished and unreleased shows, including Green Acres, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Archie Bunker's Place, Maude, The Jeffersons, Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, 227, Who's the Boss, even The Ropers and Three's a Crowd! They only have partials of One Day at a Time. Hopefully one day we'll see that one in full. Unfortunately no one on there has Too Close for Comfort, but hopefully one day, it will show up there. I think it's a great site and it needs to stay around.

I think Ioffer sucks there are many people on there who rip people by misrepresenting their items or by just charging ridiculous prices. I have had people who I have traded with resale stuff that I recorded myself. I do agree there are some rare stuff but honeslty not much almost every show mentioned in this thread is airing currently.

Threes a Crowd
Ropers
Too Close for Comfort
Lavern and Shirley
Maude
Happy Days
Jeffersons

none of these shows are that rare nor hard to find
