Ricky appears to have a bad memory in "The Fur Coat":

I know it has been said that in the first season of the show, Raicky was sometimes just as zany as Lucy. Let's look at the burgler scene in "The Fur Coat."

The real burgler (who in that getup bears a resemblenace in my opinion to comedian Larry Joe Cambell) enters the bedroom. Ricky thinks that the burgler is Fred. All of a sudden, a person (Fred) props up a ladder right next to the Ricardos window. (That must have been one real tall ladder since the Ricardos lived on the FOURTH floor.) Ricky sees the burgler exit through the Raicardos bedroom door with Lucy following him to call the police. Seconds later, Fred goes through the Ricardos window in burgler getup and Ricky sasy that he has already been here. Fred says that he has not and Raicky comes to the conclusion that a real burgler was here. Was Ricky's memory that bad? He just saw the burgler exit through the bedroom door seconds earlier.
