Default S2 only Two weeks away!!!!!

can't believe we're finally getting so close. I sure hope they included cast commercials for Ford cars and the original Screen Gems dancing sticks logo at the end of each episode.

Those things would be nice, but for me what's most important is that all the episodes be uncut. I think they will be uncut, but I will read consumer comments and reviews first before I order this DVD.

A great bonus would be an episode or two of Shirley Booth's short lived 1973 show A Touch Of Grace. Much kudos would go to Shout Factory if they could pull that off, like they did with the bonus episodes of Window On Main Street on the Father Knows Best DVD's.

Of course I'd love the episodes to be uncut but I imagine they will be. Aren't most of Shout! Factory's releases mastered/derived from the original tapes/films when those are available. My guess is the original films of Hazel are available and that is what Shout! used to prepare the DVDs. But even if they weren't uncut, I am still going to purchase this set because having most of the episodes is better to me than having none of them.

I made my own DVD's of the Antenna TV airings, those shows are edited outside of a couple exceptions so if Shout's episodes are also edited those discs would be useless to me. While I'm fairly confident the Shout set will have all uncut episodes, I'll wait to have it confirmed before I order the DVD.

How can I tell if they've been edited as I'm viewing the episodes--based on the run times? I would guess a show from the early to mid-60s should run between 24:30 to 25:30, correct?

Uncut Hazel episodes should run about 25:30 or so. The edited, syndicated versions currently seen on Antenna TV run about 22:30, so about 3 minutes is cut from the episodes. In the case of Hazel, I think the opening teasers were eliminated so that accounts for some of the missing footage, along with an edit here and there during the main parts of the episodes. Hopefully, the season 2 DVD from Shout will have all the episodes uncut and we will see all the scenes that are absent on the airings from Antenna TV.
