I Guess It Can Be Argued That 'The Simpsons' Is The Greatest Mid Season Show Ever!

The longest-running scripted prime-time show in television history had all the odds stacked against it: Not only was "The Simpsons" a spin-off (of its vignettes within "The Tracey Ullman Show") on the fledgling FOX network, but it entered life as a midseason ... morealternate to boot. Looking back, it's understandable (if not hilarious) to imagine the network's execs reasoning that Richard Grieco's insurance-investigator romp "Booker" made for a nice one-two punch with "21 Jump Street."
