Or people could just use their common sense and consume sugar in moderation.

If people had common sense or knew how to use it, nothing would have to be regulated. Besides that, sugar is used in such high density in so many foods, it becomes very difficult to avoid, especially for those who can't afford a lot of fresh and/or unprocessed foods. Regulation doesn't necessarily mean regulating people, it also means regulating the companies that make the food.

Soon, these tree-huggers will ban sugar in general!

Let's just line people up and force feed them beets, turnips, and acai berries.

I am not surprised by the article. We now have % on food for sugar, salt, fat on packages and we still eat the food. I do wonder in time will we see a caution label on the side, saying this food can cause such and such. It is amazing how the soda companies are still in business for all you drink is sugary water. The soup companies are not far behind in the salt content.

Fast food is a real problem. After researching it, I found the WORST for added sodium is Chick Fil-A. All chains (over 20 stores) publish their nutrition information. |
