Bryan Cranston to Direct An Episode Of 'Modern Family'
Breaking Bad meth chef Bryan Cranston is returning to his sitcom roots with a gig on Modern Family, but there’s a twist: He’ll remain off screen the entire time.
Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that the former Malcolm in the Middle patriarch is nearing a deal to direct an upcoming episode of the ABC comedy. This would hardly be the first time the Emmy winner has sat in the director’s chair. In addition to helming seven episodes of Malcolm during the show’s nearly-seven year run, Cranston has directed two episodes of Breaking Bad.
