The answers you seek are in quantum mechanics.

I think it's very easy for people to say, "It's all in their heads." However far-fetched it seems, I think most of those interviewed really believe this happened to them. That alone really intrigues me and makes me want to know more rather than write them off as "crazy."
Particularly the lady in the missing time segment who said, "To the people who say it's imagined, I wish they could live one day and one night in my body. But I don't want anyone to have to go through what I've gone through." She was only onscreen briefly, but very convincing. I think most of these people did have a real experience. I don't really believe in little green men, but I'd really like to know what happened. |

Good question. I think it could be any number of the following:
-People who are maybe kinda bored in their lives, and really WANT to have a wild experience, so they convince themselves they really did -Genuine attention-seeking types who are blatantly lying -People who made an honest mistake (thinking an airplane is a UFO, thinking a medical issue is a an "out-of-body" experience, etc.) -They're telling the truth and the stories really DID happen, and aliens really WERE behind it! |

Sleep paralysis, overwhelming fears of surgical and/or dental procedures that manifest themselves in dreams, or misremembered recovered memories of sexual abuse are some more "down to Earth" explanations I've read.

I'm not sure in general what the deal is with some of these cases but the Allagash abductions is probably the scariest thing I've ever seen on television or in the movies. It just seems very real to me. The terror in the men's eyes when they spoke about the experiences, the vivid recollections. I really can't watch it anymore because I know it will still give me nightmares.
Again just something about it seems very real and frightening. |

I'd have to say these are all "dreams" that seem all too real to these people. Or repressed fears that are formed into dreams.

It's like with ghost stories, some are far-fetched and unbelievable but alot of people really were shaken up by these events. I simply can't write anyone off just because it's something I can't explain logically with science.

Though I can believe in life on other planets, and that they, like us, are wondering about and searching for other forms of life, I do not think they are abducting us and performing reproductive experiments. As stated before, I think these are usually highly impressionable people who truly believe in what they are saying. Maybe they passed out, had a traumatic experience, or have other psychological problems. I think I read an article about it when I took abnormal psych, stating that there is a possible link between alien abduction stories and childhood molestation. I'll try to find it.
