It's been bugging me for years and I can't find a case from Unsolved Mysteries to match what I remember, perhaps you all could help?
From what I remember, there were multiple killings inside some sort of beauty or hair salon/parlor. A witness who was driving by the area after the murders remembers seeing a man leaving the shopping mall strip wearing a long black trench coat and possibly a top hat or other black hat. This reenactment has creeped me out since childhood and I'd really like to be able to see this segment again now as an adult. Does this ring a bell for anyone? It's definitely not Dana Satterfield, the woman who was raped and strangled inside her hair salon. All help/clues are appreciated! Thank you! |

Was it Candy Belt and Gloria Ross? Two young women who worked in a massage parlor?
http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...nd_Gloria_Ross Or the guy who was raping women in strip malls? http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/wiki/Boston_Rapist The I70 killer who shot people in strip malls? http://www.unsolved.com/ajaxfiles/wa...ial_killer.htm |

Not sure if it was on UM, but there was a creepy one like this in a small town in Montana. I'll try google.

Yeah, I think you're referring to something in Florence, Montana. I looked into it yesterday and it seemed to occur in 2005. This was definitely 1980-1990s because I was definitely a kid when I saw the segment (now 25).

I do remember a segment where there was a random killing like this, and they had a drawing of a guy with a hat, long hair, and they said he had a trench coat.
There was not much else said about the suspect. Can't remember it. I'm curious about this case now too. |

Yeah! That sounds about right. My recollection is that it involved the murder of more than one woman, all at some sort of hair salon/ beauty parlor/ storefront. From what I remember the suspect was in and out quickly and the only sighting of him was from a passerby who was driving by in a car and noticed a suspicious man leaving all in black with a trench coat and hat.
It's been bothering me for years! Wish I had more to go on. |

Bump. Sorry. Just saw this. It wasn't on UM. It was profiled on AMW. It was a triple homicide in a beauty parlor in Florence, MT in 2001. It was a very random and brutal killing. A young "smiling man" was seen in the area, wearing a trenchcoat. He wasn't seen again. This was SO scary when it happened. I was a young college student in Missoula, MT at the time and Florence was very close to where I lived. Small, friendly and trusting community where I doubt people locked their doors. Hard to believe such violence could happen there.
Two guys, Lincoln Benevidas and Brian Weber, WERE arrested in this crime, but charges were later dropped. I'm not sure of all the specifics, but I believe there were some evidentiary problems with the case. I think the whistleblower was one of the guy's cellmates in federal prison. I'll try to find some articles on it.... |

Well, the accomplice took a plea deal. The main guy, Brian Weber, had charges dropped because one of the chief witnesses died. Yeah, that woukd make prosecution tough.
Here's the link: http://www.kpax.com/news/prosecutors...rence-murders/ EDIT: oh, it looks like he violated his conditions of release. I'm shocked. Here's the story: http://missoulian.com/news/local/man...a4bcf887a.html. He was released from custody in March 2014. That makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

I vaguely remember this case because the composite sketch looked like the Incredible Hulk.
