Default Super Bowl Sunday, the game, the commercials, or the halftime show?

I know many people who watch The Superbowl just for the commercials. I'm not a huge NFL fan, I mostly follow College, but I use to love the commercials. Loved when the little Budweiser helmets played the Bud Bowl at each commercial break. In recent years the commercials haven't impressed me much, so I certainly don't watch for that. What is your favorite part of the Superbowl? The only halftime show in modern history that I've enjoyed was U2's 9/11 tribute show in 2002. It made me cry. The rest have been terrible in my opinion, so I mostly just watch for the game these days.

To be honest, I love it all!!! I get very hyped fo the Super Bowl. I love the commericals and the game especially if you have a team in it. The commericals have especially become huge.

Oh No

Just have the commercials for me...The Super Bowl isn't going to be THAT exciting this year, nor will The Halftime Show!

Thumbs up

In honour of the Superbowl today, I thought I would share the 2002 halftime 9/11 tribute I mentioned above by U2. What a wonderful halftime show this was. Have U2 perform at every Superbowl I say! LOL

Never Forget!!

I never watch the Superbowl, unless my team is in it. I hate the commercials, hate the starting time, and most of all, I hate the halftime. Too much like American Idol.

I never watch the Super Bowl, but I still watch the glorified karaoke contest.

I mostly watch it for the game, and sometime I like the halftime show, depending on who it is, being Madonna this year, I turned the channel because I cant stand her music. I really dont pay any attention to the commercials, although I have seen some pretty good ones in the past.

I'm less and less impressed w/the commercials each year. But they usually come out with 2 or 3 good ones that I enjoy. I liked the Doritos ad this year with the dog bribing the guy not to squeal on him for rubbing out the cat ("you didn't see nuthin")

But I didn't like the other Doritos ad with the baby and the kid next door in the treehouse. Animated babies have been done to death. I'm not impressed.

The Pepsi ad with Elton John was beyond stupid. How much did that set them back just to produce that thing, let alone air it during the first half of the SB?

I also liked that ad with the cheetah who gets ticked off at the guy who tried to make it race against Hyundai.

I'm not a beer drinker, but I've always thought that beer commercials are among the funniest and best made commercials out there. But the "Prohibition is Over" ad was stupid, although it was well made. The Clydesdales were basically incidental in that commercial... I don't even know why they bothered including them at all.

It's been more than 10 years since I've watched a halftime show. You don't need a concert at the Super Bowl. If they think the concert idea is so great and so many people are dying to see it, then have that on the Saturday night before the game and see who watches it. It might even last more than 20 minutes if they did that.

And they don't need to have some nobody like M.I.A. on there who's trying to get noticed. If they don't have any talent, then you know they're going to do something stupid in order to get their name out there. I rest my case.

Madonna was hot when she was 25. She's a skank now, has been many years. Get her outta there.

I remember a commercial a few years ago where a computer tried committing suicide by jumping off a bridge. It raised alot of controversy. All my friends laughed, and said lighten up, but not me. A few weeks earlier I was very suicidal, and have had several attempts, so even though not alot offends me, that one did. Knowing many people who have attempted and succeeded made it even worse. Had they had someone they love kill themself, it's doubtful that they'd be saying to lighten up.

As far as yesterday goes, I just couldn't get into any of it, the game, the commercials, Madonna, I just kept nodding off, and was hoping this Superbowl would make history, and both teams would lose.

The halftime show was atrocious. Sounded like chickens being tortured. Carl was in the other room and said, what the hell is that? I said it's Madonna singing one of her best songs. He said, if that's one of her best songs, I'd hate to hear one of her worse, change it. Me, what should I change it to? Carl, I don't care, just change it, fast. Hahaha!
