Garrett Joins "The Vampire Diaries" *Exclusive: "The Vampire Diaries" Casts Another Gilbert* Jan 25, 2012 by Robyn Ross There's another Gilbert coming to Mystic Falls. Newcomer Lindsey R. Garrett has been cast on "The Vampire Diaries" as Samantha Gilbert, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. Samantha, in her 20s, is described as a bit of a gossip, but don't expect her to cross paths with Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) anytime soon.
