Default Shows with unresolved cliffhangers???

Don't you hate it when a TV show is so confident that they'll get renewed for another season and then film a "to be continued" storyline. Then BAM!!! The show has been canceled. Can we all start naming the shows that have failed victim cancellation with a cliffhanger and the storyline that had no conclusion?

"Popular" ended it's run with Brooke being hit by a car. Producers had expected to be picked up for a third season, but the network changed their mind and it never came back.

"My So-Called Life" ended it's run with a cliffhanger, namely, Angela found out that Brian Krakow, not Jordan Catalano had written her the love note she was so fond of! We never found out what happened.

I also believe that "Cybill" ended on a cliffhanger as well!

ALF is the show that immediately comes to mind, though I know they resolved that with a TV movie several years later.

Christy (1994-95, CBS) ended on a cliffhanger. At the time, the network had changed presidents and apparently the new president (who is still there, Les Moonves) wasn't thrilled with the period drama. It ended with Christy (Kellie Martin) literally caught between the two men in her life. I think at some point the original cast was supposed to make a few movies of the week to wrap things up, but it never happened.

In 2000, a largely different cast filmed three "reunion" movies in Canada (not Tennessee, where the CBS series was shot) for the now-defunct PAX network. They were not very well-received - and over a decade and a half (!!!) later, I'M STILL mad that CBS never gave Christy the chance and audience it deserved.

I remember that movie - it aired on ABC (not NBC) in January 1996. Sadly, none of the Tanners or Ochmoneks were in it.

That's fine. "Dallas" had an unresolved cliffhanger but it came back with a reunion movie five years later.

Models Inc. had a cliffhanger. Someone was shot and FOX left it up in the air. However, in the syndicated airing, there was a different ending with two additional scenes to resolve the cliffhanger. Albeit, one character was still stuck in a predicatment without resolution.

Didn't Carrie Anne Moss play TWO separate roles on that show?

She played "Carrie", the twin that was involved in Grayson's prostitution ring. Her sister "Teri" was play by Stephanie Romanov. Teri died in the debut episode which led to a murder myster storyline. After that wrapped up, Stephanie Romanov came back as a model name Monique, who posed a threat to Carrie because she was a reminder of Teri and a threat to Julie, the senior model because Monique was very beuatiful just like deceased Teri.

The NBC thriller "The Others" (circa 2000) ended in a cliffhanger, with all the major characters' lives in grave jeopardy.

We never found out what happened, and almost certainly never will.

That's right. Thanks - I knew someone had played two separate roles on that show.

Thumbs down

Most recently the Season Two finale of "The Hard Times of RJ Berger." That cliffhanger is the reason I feel it deserved one more season.

Of course, once MTV ended Daria, played fewer music videos, and made almost half their programming into so-called "reality TV" I didn't see much of a reason to pay that much attention to the network.

There are also shows with intentional cliffhangers, where the creators planned on leaving things open.

One famous example is "The Sopranos".
