@tube head: I don't think Saved by the bell was canceled per say. It was time for the OG to celebrate graduating and from the show produced two new versions: one for college and one for the next generation of students.

Mystery Science Theater 3000
The Edge of Night (with the popularity of crime shows again, a mystery-oriented soap that isn't like Desperate Housewives or Revenge could probably work but it would probably have to be in primetime).

Family Matters - we deserved to see Steve and Laura tie the knot!

Our House - why only two measly seasons?

State of Grace - The Wonder Years from a girl's point of view, and only allowed 38 episodes.

The Wonder Years - why didn't we get to see Kevin and Co. graduate high school? Or even go through college a little?
