Default Is most of this OFF SCREEN since the show is centered around Bob Hartley?

Just curious to know if any of these things were ever seen on the show

1. Carol being hired
2. Jerry actually having a patient
3. Emily leaving for work
4. Emily coming home from work
5. Patient telling Carol she is there to see Jerry

Just wondering did Carol ever show up for a job interview or was she already working when the show started?

Well, Carol was already the receptionist when "Fly the Unfriendly Skies" kicked off TBNS's run in September 1972. We did see Emily leaving for work several times, coming home from work at least once, and we did see Jerry with a couple of patients (one of them was Howard's son). Dunno on the last question.

I noticed Carol never KNOCKS before she enters Bob's office while he is in a session lol

BTW: 40 more minutes until Bob Newhart lol

Apparently the "Group in Session" sign doesn't faze her.

I've seen a lot of patients come to Jerry and the other doctors also. Finally, don't we see Emily leave for and come home from work quite often?

Yeah I posted this thread after the show grabbed me after watching 6 or 7 eps and started wondering about other situations.
