I ask this because I kind of feel bad:
I tend to care only about cases involving women and children; At least, I care about those cases a lot more than I do when the man is a victim. It's still sad and horrible when anybody--male, female, child, teen, adult, elderly--is killed or disappeared. But if let's say I was given the choice of whether the disappearance/murder of one female or child could be solved vs. that of one male, I'd have to say I'd pick the female's case. And to make it more specific, there's a lot of cases where it's more tragedy than bad choices that lead to a person's disappearance or death. For example, in the case of Kathy Hobbs, I find that one especially tragic given the background and the fact that she was a young, innocent woman, robbed without warning in the night and beaten to death. I find her case, for example, a lot more tragic than I do the case of the guy (I forget his name) who wandered into the desert and hasn't been found, or the guy who gave the angry hitchhiker a lift only to wind up dead (the case where the car ended up found charred, where the killer stayed with an elderly couple). Am I the only one here who cares about certain cases more than others? If so. I feel terrible. |

You shouldn't feel terrible. I am positive that many of us on this board feel stronger about certain cases for whatever reason. Perhaps we relate to them somehow as a result of an experience we've had in our past, or people involved in such cases remind us of someone who has played a significant role in our lives. Another reason might be because they remind us of how fortunate we have been in our lives in one way or another.
I feel strongly about cases involving college students and military members because I relate to them so much; since I am a recent college graduate and plan to go into the navy pretty soon. |

I care mostly about the murdered/missing people because they need to be found or put to rest. It is grueling for the families to not know where their missing loved ones are or to wait many years or decades for their killer(s) to be put to justice. The lost love cases also pull at my heartstrings.

I care most about missing people....especially adults, since I feel that they get much less attention than missing children.
As for cases that I really feel strongly about, Blair Adams and Cindy James are at the top of my list. |

I would have to say the Circleville letters.I feel badly for Paul,as after learning more about this case here,I really feel he was set up by his ex-wife and ex sister-in-law,who most likely was (as least in part) responsible for her late husband's death, and I think Paul must know this and thus, that's the reason he went to UM.JMO and it would be great to see some closure on this case, even though it's been a long time.

Missing persons cases are very heartwrenching for me. I cannot imagine how their families feel. Logically, one would think they are dead, but there's always that glimmer of hope that their loved ones are alive. Unidentified victims also tug at my heart. To think, this person was someone's daughter/son/sister/brother/mother/father/friend, they had thoughts, feelings, experiences...and now we do not even know their name. Its hard to believe that with our technology and advanced forensics, we still cannot identify some people.
