I'm not really a fan of the lost treasure segments but do like the Victorio Peak one because it involves murder, government cover-up so a lot more to it than most.

I always liked the Lost Dutchman's Mine episode they did because it seemed to be the one that actually may have existed since they found evidence to back up the claims.

The first one they did on Thomas Beale and the cyphers. The reason being is it's one of the most hilarious UM segments either.

Jakub waltz and the Lost Dutchamans mine.
I would have liked Indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark, the most if it were real.

The Lost Dutchman's Mine, Skeleton Canyon, Lunersee Lake, and Victorio Peak.

I know in some locations like these, government regulations have made it illegal to dig there. What is the rational behind such regulations?

Marcos' Buddha is one of the most intruiging. I feel bad for Roger Roxas in that case, getting tortured for having it and then dying some time later.

I've also always liked the Lost Adam's diggings, and would love to see it again. Can't find it anywhere, outside of the UM Wiki page.

FWIW, if anyone is interested, I came across a Find A Grave page for Zwing Hunt (outlaw featured in the Skeleton Canyon segment), and it has a ton of information left out of the UM segment. For starters, I never liked the skeptic interviewed in the segment, because he scoffed at the notion that there was ever a treasure to begin with. Now, I side with him.

UM writeup on the case
Find A Grave page for Zwing Hunt

UM makes it seem like Hunt gave his uncle the location of the treasure shortly before dying from gunshot wounds received in a shootout that killed the other man who knew the location of the alleged treasure, Billy Grounds. UM fails to mention that while recovering from his gunshot wounds, Zwing Hunt's brother helped him escape custody where they fled and hid out in the mountains for a month. They were ambushed by Indians, and Hunt was killed while the brother escaped. One would think that if there was in fact a treasure, Hunt would've told his brother about it, and they would have went and retrieved it for that month or so that they were on the lam, but they never did.

Does anyone remember a Treasure segment where an impostor convinces the treasure hunter that he is the son of the man the hid the treasure in the first place? The treasure hunter then gives the man some key piece of his research (a map IIRC). Later on, the real son shows up asking for information.

Yes! That part was crazy, but I don't remember which segment it was. I'll do some digging.

I like the Skeleton Canyon segment because it seems like a big part of American culture because it occured in the time of the Old West; it's just so reminiscent in so many ways.

I also really liked the Lunersee Lake treasure; of all the treasure segments, I think this one is the most believable. There's definitely the possibility the treasure is still there, unless the original diggers gave directions to somebody they trusted so they could recover it for them in case they weren't able to do it themselves.

That was the Lost Dutchman's mine segment. The impostor shows a local historian a gold bar and claims to be the son of a recently deceased treasure hunter who swore he found the mine (but died of a heart attack), so the historian believed him and handed over his partners papers and manuscripts.
