Default Madonna's feud with Elton John heats up

Hey guys,

Madonna's feud with Elton John heats up

The Queen of Pop Music and the British Superstar hurled sharp barbs at each other during Sunday's ceremony.

Here's the story:

Madonna’s Golden Globes Feud
By Lara Rosenbaum | Coverage of 69th Annual Golden Globes

When you're as famous as Madonna and Sir Elton John, maybe there's nothing left to do but feud -- and last night at the Golden Globes, their little battle seemed to reignite. John lit the first barb on the red carpet, remarking that Madonna had "no (expletive) chance" of winning Best Original Song, an award for which he was also in contention.

And after asking if her rival was "wearing a dress," Madge remarked, "Let the best man win." And so she did -- picking up the Globe for her "Masterpiece," featured in "W.E.," which also marked her directorial debut.

Madonna's acceptance speech, complete with her mild British accent, seemed tame enough, but John's husband, David Furnish, wouldn't have it. "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!" Furnish wrote on Facebook, according to TMZ. "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism."

Furnish's remark brought back memories of one John made seven years ago, when Madonna won Best Live Act at the GQ Awards. "Madonna, best f**king live act? F*** off!'"

For her part, Madge didn't seem to let the barbs puncture her ego composure. "I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years," she quipped backstage. "He's known to get mad at me. He's brilliant and I adore him. He'll win another award so I don't feel bad!"

And so the battle rages on.

Oh No

I'm going to defend Elton John with this one!...

He PROOVED that he can overdress Madonna...and he's a true Brit...not an old, anorexic whore who wore out her welcome years ago and that now she suddenly speaks with an Brittish accent and she thinks she can play guitar and she should go **** herself.

Sir Elton can play the piano and no doubt in 2019, Elton John will have a tribute to Liberache, besides...I'd rather listen to "Goodbye Yellow-Brick Road" than to "Like a Virgin"! There's some kick-ass songs on that album too that get rarely played....

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is one of the best albums of all time, in my opinion.

This has nothing to do with this silly fight.

A lot of people seem to forget that Madonna was as big as Michael Jackson in the '80s and just continued. She was an individual force and icon that we really haven't seen since.

Regardless, it's all nonsense and they both should shut the hell up.

I think they're both going through menopause - that's why they are so cranky towards each other. (KIDDING!!!)

What is there to defend? A grumpy man who is bitter over losing an award? It's kind of bizarre that Madonna is turning out to be the sane one in this situation.

I agree. I love Elton John and enjoy his music but he's been perpetuating this feud for years and she really hasn't said anything for the most part about it. It's time to just let it die and get on with life.
