Favorite Season? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What was your favorite season, and why? I love seasons 1-5 all, but to narrow it down, mine is a toss-up between season 3 or 4. The show really hit its stride then, and many of the most classic shows are in those two seasons. Some of my favorite episodes are "Lawman Barney", "Convicts at Large", "High Noon In Mayberry", "Citizen's Arrest", "The Bank Job", "The Haunted House", just to name a few. If I had to choose, I guess Season 4 would be my favorite..So many classic episodes! The show really never got much better than it was then!

My fave one is Season 5 and I love the “Pageant” episode! I can never forget this because Aunt Bee got the leading role in Mayberry's Centennial Pageant haha! I think this one is from season 5 correct me if I’m wrong! I’ still watching this show from the DVD collection I bought from yourdvdcorner.com. great set, the image is kinda old but it’s acceptable as long as all the episodes are present. I’m now catching up and I’m on season 7! Great show, still make me laugh all the time and nothing can beat Andy Griffith, she’s still the best for me!

A tough choice, the seasons 1 thru 5 all had wonderful episodes. But, If had to pick my favorite season- it would season 3.

Seasons 3 and 4 are the best IMO. But if I had to pick one, it would be season 3 as it featured the pre-stroke Floyd AND Gomer. And my top 3 episodes are from season 3 - Convicts at Large, Man in a Hurry and A Wife for Andy.

For me, I think mid season 2 thru mid season 4 were the best. Roughly from the Manicurist thru My Fair Earnest T Bass. There are a few clunkers in there, and there area few great episodes that are not within that time range, but in the overall I think that range has the most episodes that I like.

I like 1 thru 3 the most. I liked Andy's character a lot more in the first few seasons and Barney as well. My favorite season would be the 2nd for the reasons I stated. Plus the background characters seemed to hit their stride in 2 and 3 for me .
