Dave Grohl says he thinks the Foo Fighters are just "five dorks" whose band sucks.
Despite the line up changes over the years, Grohl told Billboard magazine they're still just the "same five dorks that were touring in a van 17 years ago". "You have to understand, we're a really simple band," says Grohl. "We think we suck and we try really hard to make good records and we practice. We don't feel like the biggest, best band in the world." Last year the band released their seventh album Wasting Light to good reviews, and also released a documentary Back and Forth. "It's been a good one, 2011 was very good to me," says Grohl. "I was at a New Year's Eve party and someone asked me how was my year, and I said I honestly think 2011 was the best year of my entire life, and I actually meant it." But 2012 could be better, as he believes the current musical climate is very similar to how it was just before his previous band Nirvana broke through. "The late '80s was full of over-produced pop that kids had nothing to grab hold of – they had no way of connecting to this hair metal band singing about ****ing strippers in a limousine on Sunset Boulevard. Who can relate to that? "Then you had a bunch of formulaic pop songstress bull****, and music was boring. And then a bunch of bands with dirty kids got on MTV and rock'n'roll became huge again. And I feel like that's about to happen. Something's got to give. It can't be song contests on television for the rest of our lives." Read more: http://www.3news.co.nz/Foo-Fighters-...#ixzz1jFsUE2x6 |

Well, at least he's honest about his band "sucking". He may or may not really suck, but at least the Foo Fighters aren't NICKELBACK!!!!!

![]() Not even Creed!! Anyone remember them? Anyone care to? Nickelpuke is following in their footsteps. Chad Kroeger and Co. are so stinking corporate and generic, as well as redundant. |

The Foo Fighters are a good band.
I'm just not into them. This happens sometimes with me and bands. I recognize something good but it just doesn't click with me. It's better than outright sucking, which is rampant in music today. The last few years (or decade) have to be the absolute low point in modern music history. |
