Has anyone seen this? It's a Showtime Original series. There are two full seasons listed on, On Demand. I spotted it the other night, and I've been blasting through the show. I've loved Laura Linney for a long time, and she's doing a fantastic job as a mother of a rebellious teen, played by Gabriel Brasso. Her husband is played by Oliver Platt. She has terminal cancer and wants to make the most of the time she has left. I love it, so far.

I've seen seasons 1 & 2. It made me laugh out loud, and well up sometimes too.
There was no hype about it, when it started (or since) over here. I want more people to know about it ! I'm so glad I caught it from the first episode - and that's only 'cause I spotted a tiny pic of Laura Linney in the tv guide, and she's always excellent. The acting is superb - by every single person involved. Not one weak link. Cynthia Nixon wowed me too - great casting as 'Rebecca'. I thought I'd only see her as 'Miranda' from Sex In The City, but not at all. It's really easy to believe her character is old friends with 'Cathy'. They are great together - as is the chemistry she has with 'Sean' ! Sean was the only character that I wasn't keen on to begin with, but I got used to him, and his scenes with Rebecca made me like him more. 'Marlene' is hilarious. Every time she's on screen, I wanted more of her ! |
