I haven't seen Father Knows Best on tv is so many years and was quite surprised and delighted to find it every morning on KTLA! I had not seen it so long I didnt think I would really want to watch it anymore, but it still holds up as entertaining, funny and a nostalgic re visit of my childhood. Also it holds up quite well and doesn't feel too dated. So many of the episodes are like new to me because I havent seen them in years and forgotten. A wonderful tv icon that still gives back to us.

I agree. I have a couple of seasons on DVD and really enjoy them.

Great to have this series on Antenna TV.
I'm enjoying seeing the many guests. I noticed that Roberta Shore was credited at least once as Jymme, which is her middle name. Fun to see her, especially when interested in Bud: ![]() You go, girl! Whether Bud Anderson or Rick Nelson, Roberta's characters knew what was good for them. |

I'd like to see "Father Knows Best" again, too. Unfortunately, I don't have Antenna TV. What is just as important to me is for these programs being shown without scenes deleted and showing the credits at the end on full screen (not as tiny inserts while the next show is being promoted). The best example I have seen lately is MeTV. From what I can tell on shows I have seen on MeTV is there are no deletions of scenes - including the short 60-seconds or so one at the end of the show - and the closing credits are run full scene and completely. This isn't so much a promotion for MeTV as it is a request for showing the classic shows in this manner.

Fortunately, Antenna-TV is showing the closing credits of FKB complete and full-screen...! I don't know of any deliberate scene deletions, but the eps appear to be complete.

I have always loved this show for as long as I can remember. I enjoy watching, even knowing how episodes 'turn out' and what is going to happen.
I feel that many of the issues faced on the show can be likened to issues we face as parents and children today and that perhaps today, some of the 'old' ways of resolving said issues could be put to good use! Yes, it always had a somewhat happy ending, but the kids and sometimes the parents themselves had to work through difficulities and find solutions, even if it meant they were unhappy. I don't think it always made the world sunshine and lollipops, but showed everyone makes mistakes and has to pay for them in the long run. |

I'd love to see it again but it's never shown in my area.
