I ask this because for me when I go to Comcast On Demand feature, Im a little underwhelmed with it. I mean, yes, there is ABC, FOX, NBC etc. on Demand as well as HBO on Demand but I am a little disappointed. I remember they had a category called Tube Time and it was classic shows like The Facts of Life, Threes Company, I think, etc. and they disbanded it.
If I was running the On Demand service I would just make all news shows, daytime talk shows, Soap Operas, Game Shows/Old and New, Old Soap Operas, Old sports games, old dramas, sitcoms/Old and New etc. I know people may think Im crazy for suggesting this but I think you should get something from your cable. Its bad enough that you have to pay for channels you dont want and then wait patientally for channels you do want. |

On Demand, could be much better than it is,I agree with you on that. They show to much of the newer stuff, yet hardly any older programs. Here's just one example, when TVLAND was available On Demand, they only showed Hot In Cleveland and one other of their original shows. They did not make any of the older shows available for viewing.--Anyhow there really should be a few stations that are available On Demand that show only the older shows, and alot of episodes of those shows.

I'm sure TV Land can't air older programming because it doesn't have the rights to do it On Demand. Sure they may air it on their network, but there has to be a sticking point as to what happens for On Demand.

Well Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse Me!
I'm sorry I offended you. I just noticed how a lot of you complain about certain shows aren't available "On Demand" on your Pay-TV's System, and there is an "Alternative" to it. Bear in mind many of the older shows that are available "On Demand" are hacked just as bad as those on the standard channels, and although you can "Fast-Forward" or "Rewind" the Program, the FF Feature is DISABLED during the Commercials. Nuts to that!

The FF feature may be disabled during commercials, but most of the time its only one 30-60 second commercial, which I'm completely fine with. Overall, I am very happy with the On Demand service that my cable company provides.

they recently re-aligned my OnDemand channels, combining a bunch of them, adding a bunch of stupid new ones, and basically leaving me feeling ripped off compared to what I had a couple of months ago on there - but I nkow better than to call TW and complain, because they are just about to raise my rates again (there was a Tuesday in this month wasn't there?) |

Well, FOX, ABC, TBS, TNT, CBS etc. have free on demand shows, like Desperate Housewives, The Simpsons etc. Free movies, but I dont think they will win any Oscars anytime soon. But Im talking about some older shows, or game shows, things like that. I mean there is some stuff that they show on E which is only 2 or 3 mins. long. I mean, seriously?
I dont know, it just seems a little underwhelming especially there sports coverage, like NBA, NFL on Demand. |
