They sure got the 4 seasons of Dennis The Menace out quickly. I'm not really a fan of the Dennis TV show, or Donna Reed for that matter. So I don't plan to buy DVD's of these two shows. I think the Dennis comic books are much funnier than the TV show, especially the books where Al Wiseman is the artist. And to me Donna Reed comes off as this squeaky clean perfect american suburban housewife who always has all the right answers and never makes mistakes or does anything wrong. That is so phony, Donna Reed has always irritated me, she's just not my cup of tea I guess.

Another thing about the Donna Reed Show, the other three members of the family, the husband and the two kids, all three are dull and don't have much of a personality. This was probably done on purpose so Donna Reed could be in the forefront and be the STAR. One other fact, of the four main cast members, Donna Reed was the only one to have her first name match her characters first name in the show. Donna is Donna, Carl is Alex, Paul is Jeff, and Shelley is Mary. Talk about preferential treatment for the star, they went over the top with that one that's for sure.

But regarding Hazel, yes I also look forward to the 2nd season DVD, as long as all the episodes are the full uncut versions it should be a nice DVD set. Hopefully the remaining seasons will be out as fast as DTM was, time will tell.

To me seasons 2 and 3 were the best of the series. We really got to know the characters and everything seemed so together. Season 4 started to lose direction...don't get me started on 5!!!!!!

I agree with you the series started losing focus in the 4th season. And that season has only 26 episodes, down from the 32 each in the 2nd and 3rd seasons.

I do like season 5 however, I know it's not the same without Don DeFore and Whitney Blake, but Ray Fulmer and Lynn Borden did a good job taking over, Lynn Borden is rather cute to look at. The 5th season has 29 episodes, I wish they would have made one more for an even 30.

I like all seasons with Don Defore and Whitney Blake, so seasons 1-4. If Shout! Factory releases seasons 3 and 4 also, I will be buying them. I won't buy season 5 even if it is released to DVD.

The presence of Lynn Borden is probably the most positive aspect of the 5th season, she's a cutie that's for sure.

The 2nd season starts off very well, the first 10 episodes or so are all good ones, then it tails off a little in the middle part of the season, then towards the end of the season are a couple more good episodes with Hazel's Luck and Oh My Aching Back. The season ends with a bit of a tearjerker episode So Long Brown Eyes.

One 4th season episode I enjoy is the one with pro golfer Tony Lema, the episode first aired in January 1965. Sadly however, just a year and a half later in July 1966, Mr. Lema was killed in a private plane accident along with his wife and two other passengers that were on the plane. It seems the plane ran out of fuel shortly before they were to reach their destination. Very sad and tragic indeed. Another good 4th season episode is the one where Mr. B has problems getting good reception on his TV set.
