Default My Annual Awards

I've done this post every New Years Eve on http://commercialsihate.com this year I'. going to post it on this site and http://hometheatreforum.com as well. I have been giving out these awards since 1975, I originally had them to compare my Favorite Movie to the one that got the Acadamy Award (For the Record the first winner was Walt Disney's Escape to Witch Mountain) Over the years I added other Awards as needed, and a couple of times I actually retired an Award because it was either irrelivant (I retired my "Play it to Death Sam Award after I stopped listening to Radio because they decided to play the same songs over and over again) and I retired my ST Happens Award in 2004 because I decided "Glorifying" a Disaster was not really in good Taste after the Tsunami occured in the Indian Ocean that year. As for the Movie Awards, ONLY ONCE did my Movie of the year MATCH the Acadamy Award and that was in 1998 you know, that movie about that Big Boat that hits something and sinks, on board was this woman who took off her clothes so some dude can draw a picture of her (and he hands her a Dime that's 34 years AHEAD of its time!)

OK I've said too much, so here are my Annual Awards for 2011

Movie of the Year: Courageous

Funniest Movie: The Green Hornet

"Tail End Movie: Iron Man 2 (Someone has to bring up the rear!)

Commercial of the Year: McDonalds Papa Bear Congratulates Son

FIREWORKS DISPLAYS

Gold Medal Altamonte Springs Red-Hot and Boom!

Silver Medal Ormond Beach July 4 Display

Bronze Medal Daytona Speedway Coke-Zero 400 Post-Race Display

PARADES (New Award!)

Bronze Medal Samsula Christmas Tractor Parade

Buttheads of the Year: Joe Paterno and the Penn State University Football Coaches

Bull-O-Nee! Award: Bank Of America (And Others) For attempting to Rob the Poor and Pay the Rich by imposing fees on Debit Cards.

DOH! Award: Japans Nuclear Industry - I read if their Plants had the same Safety Devices our Plants have they would not have had all those problems after the Tsunami!
(I wonder if they made someone do the "Hari Kiri"?)

F.U.B.A.R. of the Year: CBS/PARAMOUNT The Fugative DVD Set Recall. Word is that Copyright Issues caused this Fiasco.

Welcome to H-E-(Double Hockey Stix)! Osama Bin Laden, Moummar Quadaffi & Kim Il Jung.

@$$-Kickers of the Year Seal Team Six atriot:

GUTS Award (The Award for REAL AMERICANS!) - Jenni Lake (Posthumously) For Refusing to undergo Treatment for Cancer and Aborting her unborn Child even though it meant by the time the child was born it would be too late to save her life. atriot:

And finally, Sammy's Little (Stinker) of the Year.
I began this award in 1987. During the previous year at Christmastime, we acquired a New Member of the Family, a white Toy Poodle named Benji. My Father tagged Benji the Moniker "Little (Stinker)' and naturally he had to have his own Award - the Little (Stinker) of the Year. Sadly Benji crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2001, passing the Flag to another Poodle, angie who gave out the award until she crossed the Rainbow Bridge and passed the Flag to my current Dog, Sammy.

The First recipiant of this Award was Jessica McClure, the little Girl who fell in a Well in Texas. At the age of 21 Months she's the youngest person to ever receive this Award. You don't have to be a Kid to get this award, in 1996 I actually gave this award Posthumously to George Burns, who actually predicted how long he would live 20 years earlier! (When asked this question during an Interview on a Newsmagazine show he said "Long enough to see who marries Brooke Shields" - A few days before Mr. Burns passed away, Andrei Aggazzi "Popped the Question" to Ms. Shields!) At the age of 100 Mr. Burns is the oldest Person to receive this Award. Other winners have included:

Merlon Oleson and Marie Osmond (1988) - Their Charity (Children's Miracle Network) actually raised more Money during their Telethon than Jerry Lewis's Telethon did!

Dolly Parton (1989) Did a Spoof of Madonna's "Bullet Bra", wearing her own version during a Concert.

Tara Lipinski (1998) Ice Skating Prodigy.

Sarah Hughes (2002) Another Ice Skating Prodigy.

Elian Gonzalez (2000) Helping George Bush win the Election.

Ken Jennings and Gloria Estefan (2004 - Dead Heat!) The former for winning over a Megabuck on Jeopardy, the latter for singing a "Wierd Al" Style Parody of one of her own Songs during a Concert.

The Appalachian State University Football Team (2007) Defeating a much Bigger Team (The University of Michigan).

Kyle Busch (2009) "Make mine a Double DOUBLE"! Prior to 2009 NOBODY had ever won two NASCAR Races in a single day, Mr. Busch did this TWICE!

The US Olympic Bobsled Team (2010) "What took you so long?" (First Gold Medal in Bobsledding since 1932!)

and now, for 2011 ...

(Drumroll Please)

This Little Girl is a PRODIGY, Five years of age and she is MAKING WAVES in the Ice Skating World. She Starred in Busch Garden's (Tampa) Holiday Ice Show this year and got a STANDING OVAITION! Keep Up the Good Work Olivia, and who knows, we may see you earn a Gold Medal in the 2022 Winter Olympics!

I've decided to use her picture as my New Avatar, where it will stay until December 31, 2012, when I will replace her with that years Winner. (Flavio and Alvaro will make "Cameo" Appearences on April 14 and December 4 Respectively, and after I "Retire Olivia's Image she will make a Cameo Appearance on her birthday in 2013)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
