Cloris is still making people laugh after all these years. Her career rivals Betty's and perhaps even exceeds her with an Oscar win. Is it because Betty White is a more likeable personality? I am just curious as to why?

No I think they're both loved,Betty's lovable Rose in "The Golden Girls" perhaps gives Betty an edge in the popular stakes.
Think Cloris has had bit more success in drama as well as comedy. |

When Cloris was on Dancing With the Stars, she was very well respected as a legend, and everybody's senior, but I think she can get carried away and be rather annoying and obnoxious, when she's trying to be funny.
She's OK when she's playing a grandmother type on a sit-com, but she just isn't no Betty White, plain and simple!! I also agree, her talents are more rooted in drama rather than comedy. |

While I'll agree that there can only be one Betty White, Cloris is more rooted in comedy. She is a Mel Brooks favorite and has been in so many comedies and sitcoms. Yes, she won an Oscar for a drama, but she is more well known for her comedy. IMO |

Anybody remember the short-lived sitcom, Thanks (late '90's) ,about a family of 17th century Puritans? Cloris played the grandmother on this. I remember her being pretty hilarious in it.

Cloris was great on The Nutt House which was a short lived sitcom in 1989 co-starring Harvey Korman. That should have lasted longer.
