'Two and a Half Men' Actress Holland Taylor Is Glad Charlie Sheen is Off the Show

One of the regulars on CBS's "Two and a Half Men," who formerly co-starred with Charlie Sheen on the show, is grateful that Sheen left the sitcom, Reuters reports.

Actress Holland Taylor, who plays Evelyn Harper on the show, said she’s glad the actor has moved on because while he was on the show he was a danger to himself, the story reports.

"It was painful for me to see him in pain, and he did something very, very dangerous by -- first of all, obviously, doing drugs to that degree is dangerous, but quitting very violently is very dangerous too," she told the news service.

"And he went through really an amazing thing out in public. I just was terrified for him. I think everybody was. But he got through it alive, which is all anybody wanted." Taylor described Sheen’s daily rants during his crisis earlier this year as "very scary."

"There were a few days there where I would open the paper, and I would be so frightened to see that something really terrible happened," she said. "I'm glad he escaped that."

Taylor has remained on the show, which airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS. She is also currently on the stage in “Ann,” her one-woman show based on the life of the late Ann Richards, the former governor of Texas.
